(Sioux Falls, SD) — The owner of a suspended day care is facing child abuse charges. Sioux Falls Police say Wildflower Academy owner Ametrea Christion is accused of assaulting an eleven-year-old boy. Police watched a video that reportedly shows Christion hitting the child in the head, then grabbing him as he tries to get away and hitting him again, according to court documents. Christion reportedly told detectives the video was “fake” and that she and the child were just “playing around.” The South Dakota Department of Social Services suspended Wildflower Academy’s license on October 23rd.
