DOC Issues Notice Of High-Risk Inmate Release

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A 28-year-old man currently serving time for attempted sexual contact with a child could soon be released from prison. The South Dakota Department of Corrections issued a news release Monday stating that James Hanscom is considered a high risk to reoffend. His sentence expires this Thursday. Since he’s served his entire sentence, Hanscom will not be on parole supervision or monitoring. He’ll be released in the Sioux Falls area.
