(Rapid City, SD) — Two aircrafts from the Ellsworth Air Force Base have landed safely at a Swedish air base. The Ellsworth B-1 bombers are in Sweden to participate in a bomber task force exercise. This comes three weeks after the bombers were used to conduct air strikes in Iraq and Syria. The Air Force says the 28th Bomb Wing bombers will join the Swedish armed forces, NATO allies and other international partners to keep up with the security commitments across the U.S. European Command area of responsibility. There’s no word on how long the crews will be in Sweden.
