(Pierre, SD) — Any South Dakotans affected by the recent flood are being asked to submit a property damage assessment as soon as possible. It’s in an effort to reach the one-point-six million dollar minimum in losses to qualify for federal assistance from FEMA. Emergency managers from several counties are encouraging people to visit a link on their websites to file an assessment. The form does ask for some personal information. But the data is going to be used in the state’s push for a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
