(Pierre, SD) — A former South Dakota Department of Revenue employee is pleading guilty to forgery. Yesterday, Lynne Hunsley pleaded guilty to one count of forgery and one count of grand theft by deception. She allegedly used her position with the DMV to falsify records between January and June in 2021 that resulted in her not having to pay a thousand-dollar in tax liabilities to the state. Attorney General Marty Jackley said in the news release, he will “continue to protect taxpayer dollars and restore the public’s trust in state government.” This comes after multiple corruption charges have been filed against state employees this year.
