(Sioux Falls, SD) — A 19-year-old former Mitchell Legion baseball player has pled guilty in a rape case and will be a key witness in the trials of his teammates. Lincoln Bates faces up to five years in prison for the sexual assault of a minor in June 2023. It happened at a Rapid City hotel. Bates will be sentenced in August and the rape charges he was facing will be dismissed.
