(Canton, SD) — A former Sioux Falls therapist is planning to plead guilty to having an illegal relationship with a patient. Roy Conrad was facing six counts of sexual penetration by psychotherapist in 2023 but court records now say he’s facing three charges of sexual penetration and two charges of sexual contact by a psychotherapist. The victim is an adult woman who reportedly told investigators that Conrad convinced her that his physical touch would help her overcome her trauma. Investigators say it started as hugging but in 2020 her sessions with the former therapist turned sexual. Conrad was scheduled to plead guilty yesterday but the hearing was rescheduled and a new court date has not been set yet.
