(Pierre, SD) — Gaming is more popular than ever in South Dakota and across America. South Dakota brought in a revenue of nearly one-hundred-50 million dollars in 2023 for a three-point-three percent increase from the year before. South Dakota’s gaming includes commercial and tribal casinos as well as retail sports betting. Nearly five-thousand jobs were supported by the 35 casinos in the state. According to the American Gaming Association, commercial gaming revenue in the U.S. reached over 66 billion dollars in 2023, surpassing more than 60 billion in 2022 for a ten-percent uptick. It marks the third straight year of record-setting revenue around the country.
