Gov. Noem, AG Jackley Against Fed Title IX Changes

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem and Attorney General Marty Jackley are not in favor of President Biden’s new Title Nine changes. It’s because the South Dakota leaders want a set of state laws passed in 2022, Senate Bill 46, to remain the status quo. The legislation is meant to protect fairness in women’s sports, and in part says only biological females are allowed to participate in any team, sport, or athletic event designated for women or girls. Noem and Jackley announced last week that South Dakota was joining five other states in a lawsuit filed by the state of Arkansas that seeks to block Biden’s changes. The federal changes are supposed to take effect on August 1st.
