Gov. Noem First Interview Since Latest Trump Meeting

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem is sharing the latest on her priorities in South Dakota as former President Donald Trump’s vice president selection looms. The Republican governor sat down with the South Dakota Broadcasters Association following a recent meeting with Trump at Mar-a-lago. She says she’s still focused on a strong finish to this year’s legislative session with an emphasis on the state’s budget pertaining to state employees, education, care providers and prison facilities. Noem also reaffirmed her commitment to efforts in securing the Southern border and working to improve the unsteady relationship with some of South Dakota’s tribes. If selected as Trump’s running mate for the 2024 election, she wants South Dakotans to know Lieutenant Governor, Larry Rhoden, is prepared to step into the role as the state’s new governor.
