(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem will answer South Dakota reporters questions today in a rare news conference. An announcement from her office Wednesday says the Governor plans to discuss the crisis at the Southern Border and “the negative impact the open border and cartel presence is having on South Dakota’s tribal lands.” This comes as Noem visited Texas yesterday to meet with South Dakota National Guard troops who were deployed there to help build the border wall. The last news conference at the state Capitol was held on February 1st. However, it was two years ago when Noem stopped a decades-long tradition of governors holding weekly news conferences during legislative sessions.
