(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem is urging President Biden to address the nationwide IV-fluid shortage. Hospitals and doctors’ offices across the country are forced to cancel or postpone elective surgeries due to the shortage — brought on by Hurricane Helene. The Baxter International Plant in Marion, North Carolina, which produces 60 percent of IV solutions, was damaged in the storm. The letter was sent by Noem and three of her fellow Republican governors on Thursday.
