Gov. Noem’s Dog Story Leaves VP Bid In Jeopardy

(Pierre, SD) — A source close to Donald Trump says Governor Noem’s vice presidency bid is not looking good after the backlash over her dog story. It was recently reported that her upcoming book detailed the story of how roughly 20 years ago, she shot and killed her 14-month-old German wirehaired pointer, Cricket, due to poor behavior. The anecdote has rubbed many the wrong way, including Republicans. According to The Hill, one Trump ally said, “She’s DOA,” about her chances for Trump’s VP because of the controversy it has created. Noem has come out defending the story, noting it was supposed to be an illustration of her character as a sign of her authenticity and willingness to make difficult choices.
