Governor Noem Announces Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway

(Pierre, SD) — Over 90 South Dakota teacher aides from more than 50 school districts will be a part of a new Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway pilot program. Governor Noem says, “This new opportunity will allow South Dakotans to work towards their bachelor’s degree this year, while still providing them the freedom to continue working.” The program starts with the 2023-24 school year, and the participants will gain teacher certifications through the process. Northern State University and Dakota State University are partnering to offer the program’s coursework.
