(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem is giving the green light on funding for a new women’s prison in Rapid City. She signed Senate Bill 50 into law on Thursday. It will set aside money for the new facility in a move Noem says will save taxpayer dollars and avoid future debt. The plan is to make a significant upgrade from the current women’s prison that will provide rehabilitation programming and better resources.
