Governor Noem Claims FBI Agent Kidnapped

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem is insisting that drug cartels are operating in South Dakota’s reservations. In an interview with News Nation, Noem discussed many topics, including the backlash from stories in her new book, “No Going Back,’ that went on sale yesterday. But she brought up a new development, claiming a cartel member kidnapped an FBI officer on tribal lands just last week. She says they are able to operate on reservations because they are protected. KELOLAND News reports it could not confirm the kidnapping last week as the Governor suggested. A spokesman for the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office says they could not verify that cartels are actually in the state, however, they did note the majority of illegal drugs found in South Dakota come from south of the border and are tied to the cartels.
