Grand Jury Indicts Two People On Charges For First 2023 Homicide In Sioux Falls

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Two people are now facing charges tied to the first homicide of 2023 in Sioux Falls. The Sioux Falls Police Department announced Monday that arrest warrants for murder carrying more than a hundred-thousand cash bond were issued for two people in connection to the death of Nigussie Bulti on July 5th. A grand jury indicted 29-year-old man Morningstar Jewett, and 26-year-old woman Taylor Jade Crossley on charges of first- and second-degree murder, along with other charges. Bulti, a 63-year-old, was found dead in his apartment under suspicious circumstances. Jewett, who was initially only charged with aggravated assault, admitted to taking Bulti’s life during a fight, according to court records.
