Grass Fire Near Hartford Contained

(Hartford, SD) — A grass fire that broke out near Hartford is no longer a threat after a quick response. It went ablaze around 267th Street between Blue Sage Lane and 465th Avenue around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Six local fire departments from Minnehaha, Lincoln and Turner Counties showed up to help, according to the Hartford Fire Department. Around 60 acres burned, but no structures were damaged and there were no injuries. Crews had the fire out and were able to leave the area around 6 p.m.
