High-Speed Chase Ends In South Dakota

(Brookings County, SD) — More details are being revealed about a high-speed chase that started in Minnesota and ended in South Dakota. It happened on Wednesday morning, getting multiple agencies involved. Authorities say drug activity was seen by officers in Ivanhoe, Minnesota, and the pursuit ensued. A suspect led police across state lines along Highway 30, through the outskirts of White, moving west towards I-29. Manny Langstraat, a patrol sergeant for the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, says the chase turned southbound onto I-29 with speeds well over a hundred miles an hour the whole time. The suspect’s car ran out of gas south of Colman and hid in a shed on someone’s property. Sargeant Langstraat says the person home at the time was able to alert officers to where the suspect was hidden, and the situation ended peacefully overall.
