Hot Temps Kick Off Week, Rain Relief Coming Later

(Pierre) — Central, south central, and east central South Dakota will reach 100-degree heat Monday. Strong wind gusts are supposed to pick up in the afternoon. Tuesday will stay hot, and those southerly winds are likely to increase to 40 miles an hour or more. Temps will slowly get a little cooler throughout the week with central South Dakota having a chance for rain Wednesday. The southeast part of the state will get rain late in the week, starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend.
