(Undated) — The hot summer weather is leading to a greater risk of wildfires, especially in the western part of South Dakota. Temperatures are hitting the century mark in the west and a Red Flag Warning was in effect for most of yesterday. Effected areas stretched from Pine Ridge, to Rapid City and Sturgis and as far north as White Butte along US-12. Because of the wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest, parts of the state could see smoky, hazy skies.
