(Sioux Falls, SD) — A South Dakota Penitentiary inmate’s sentence is being extended. The Attorney General’s office says 31-year-old Roland Winfred Miner was sentenced yesterday to 50 additional years behind bars. In connection to incident that happened in November 2022, he was convicted in April of one felony count of possession by an inmate and two misdemeanor counts of threating a law enforcement officer. Attorney General Jackley said inmates who threaten correctional officer “need to be, and will be, held accountable.” Miner is currently serving two sentences and the new sentence will be served consecutively.
