Koskan Pleads Guilty To Incest Charges, Gets Ten Years

(Pierre, SD) — Former South Dakota state Senate candidate Joel Koskan is facing a ten year stretch in prison after being sentenced on two incest charges. A judge handed down the maximum sentence to Koskan yesterday, which includes ten years in prison and roughly 20-thousand dollars in fines. Koskan’s guilty plea stems from crimes committed at his home. Officials say Koskan also attempted to pressure the victim to retract the allegations against him. Koskan will have to register as a sex offender when he leaves prison.
