Largest Fentanyl Bust In South Dakota History

(Roberts County, SD) — More details are being revealed about the state’s largest fentanyl bust ever. Authorities stopped Berta Gonzales and Edwin Salinas in Roberts County and searched their car on November 26th. They were bringing the drugs from California to Minnesota, according to a factual basis statement signed by Gonzales. A court document says more than three pounds of powder and more than 53-thousand pills – all containing fentanyl — were found in the car. Gonzales plans to plead guilty and face a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life, while Salinas is scheduled to go on trial next month.
