(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls credit union is celebrating 90 years by expanding beyond the city and even beyond the state. Levo Credit Union was founded in October of 1934 as the Sioux Falls U.S. Employees Federal Credit Union. The name was changed to Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union in 1982 after merging with the Sioux Falls Teachers Credit Union. It became Levo Credit Union in 2021. Officials say Levo has received regulatory approval to expand to 29 counties. Within South Dakota, branches are planned for Aberdeen, Brookings, Huron, Mitchell and Watertown, as well as other cities. Outside the state, branches are set for Fargo, North Dakota and Sioux City, Iowa. Officials say they’ve already broken ground for the Fargo branch and it’s scheduled to open in early 2026.
