(Humboldt, SD) — A man is fighting for his life after hitting an I-90 overpass west of Sioux Falls near Humboldt. The 70-year-old was driving a box truck when he went off the road and struck the bridge overpass of 457th Avenue around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. Authorities say the driver was pinned in the truck and had to be extricated before he was taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter. Investigators are looking into what caused the crash. DOT engineers and staff decided to close the bridge to traffic because of the damage.
