Man Pleads Guilty But Mentally Ill To Triple Murder in Scotland

(Tyndall, SD) — A South Dakota man is pleading guilty but mentally ill in a triple murder that happened in Scotland. Forty-three-year-old Francis Lange appeared inside a Bon Homme County courthouse on Wednesday afternoon for a change of plea hearing. He admitted guilt in killing his former girlfriend, Angela Monclova, Librado Monclova and Diane Akins in November of 2021. Lange will face three mandatory life sentences without the chance of parole, plus 30 years for two aggravated assault charges.
