(Millbank, SD) — A man is okay after being rescued from a grain bin in Grant County. According to the Millbank Fire Department, it happened Monday afternoon when the man was trapped in beans inside a steel grain bin while crews were moving grain. Firefighters used specially designed “grain tubes” to remove grain around him. Hydraulic spreaders were also used to keep tubes from caving. A hole was cut on the opposite side of the bin to let the remaining grain out to prevent it from coming down on the man or the rescuers. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
