(Custer, SD) — A mass casualty training event is taking place today in Custer County. The Custer County SD Emergency Management says first responders and law enforcement will train in a remote area southeast of Custer. Multiple agencies will coordinate response efforts to practice for a real-world scenario. Residents in the area should expect to see increased Blackhawk and helicopter presence. Agencies participating in the exercise include, the South Dakota National Guard’s Army Aviation Support Facility, U.S. Forest Service, Black Hills Life Light and local and state dispatch.
