(Elk Point, SD) — The community is remembering a longtime South Dakota law enforcement leader after his unexpected passing last week. A memorial service to celebrate Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges’ life and service in Elk Point Sunday. Sheriff Limoges was 64 years old and served Union County as its sheriff for 33 years. Those honoring him say he left an impact in many southeastern South Dakota communities and even into Iowa and Nebraska communities that border Union County.
