(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Minnehaha County auditor wants to do a post-election audit following Tuesday’s Primary. Leah Anderson says she plans to request 25 percent of ballots to be hand counted. A post-election audit is typically five percent of the ballots cast. Anderson says the request for a larger number is to have greater assurance of the tabulation machine count accuracy. Ballot counts were already finished just a few hours after the polls closed with Minnehaha County and the rest of South Dakota seeing an exceptionally low voter turnout.
