(Rapid City, SD) — Monument Health is opening two new urgent care facilities in Western South Dakota. A groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday. One will be just outside of Ellsworth Air Force Base in Box Elder and the other in Rapid Valley. The clinics will have primary care and urgent care. It’s been a multi-year project in efforts to help provide better healthcare to people east of Rapid City. The move also comes as Box Elder undergoes a major expansion with Ellsworth’s B-21 plan. Box Elder’s Urgent Care is expected to be up and running by next summer, with the Rapid Valley location to open in the fall next year.
