More than 150,000 South Dakotans Expected To Travel For Independence Day

(Pierre, SD) — The 4th of July is less than a week away now, but the busy travel days are getting going much sooner than that. Triple-A is projecting close to 156-thousand South Dakotans will travel for the holiday. That’s about a four-percent increase from last year. Around 85-percent will be driving with gas prices much lower now than this time a year ago. South Dakota spokesperson Shawn Steward says state roadways will be very busy since it’s construction season and urges South Dakotans to be cautious and prepared.
