(Sioux Falls, SD) — The NAACP is launching an internal investigation into the Sioux Falls Police Department. Last week, a family member of Daniel Bettelyoun shared the video of his arrest on Facebook and it went viral. The video shows officers trying to detain Bettelyoun by striking and tasing him. The department says the video doesn’t show him running away from officers to his mother’s apartment. Sioux Falls NAACP Vice President Julian Beaudion says they’re working closely with the family and the police to determine the next steps of the investigation.
