(Sioux Falls, SD) — The N-double-A-C-P is responding to the racial profiling incident at a Sioux Falls Denny’s. The group’s Sioux Falls Branch issued a statement, saying, “We are disappointed by the lack of leadership from elected and appointed city officials.” It allegedly took place in August, ending with two Black men being escorted out of the restaurant by police. Damon Whitfield and Hector Madera had just completed a cross-country journey and stopped at the Denny’s off I-29. They say a waitress purposefully neglected to serve them, and the woman proceeded to call the police after they called her over trying to order.
