National Travel And Tourism Week

(Pierre, SD) — Next week is National Travel and Tourism Week. Throughout the week, several South Dakota landmarks will be lit in red, including Wylie Park in Aberdeen, the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, and the Monument in Rapid City. Governor Kristi Noem says tourism generates more than ten percent of total sales tax for the state. She says the tourism industry provides jobs and income for families, helps maintain a strong economy, and generates revenue for essential services. This year’s theme is “Travel Forward.”
