New Projects In Downtown Sioux Falls Move Closer To Construction

(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Falls City Council are approving more than 15-million-dollars in appropriations for projects after meeting Tuesday night. These new additions include upgrades to Jacobson Plaza, along with a splash pad and dog park, and also a ice skating ribbon near Falls Park. If approved next week, the majority of the funds would be taken from the city’s sales/use tax fund, except for the three-and-a-quarter-million dollars in gifts that were announced last week from T. Denny Sanford and the Jacobson and Lloyd families. The total cost of the Jacobson Plaza project is 16-and-a-half million dollars — eight-million of that from the private investments. It’s the largest private investment in Sioux Falls Park System history.
