NOAA Winter Weather Outlook For SD

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakotans now have a better idea of what to expect from the weather this winter. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released its winter outlook report for the upcoming season. Temperatures are predicted to be below normal for nearly all of South Dakota from December through January. The outlook gives the state and most of the surrounding region equal chances for the average amount of precipitation. NOAA officials also report a La Niña slowly developing that could shape winter weather throughout the country.
