(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem is announcing a state investment in apprenticeship programs. Noem announced a nearly eight-million dollar funding effort for apprenticeships to help fill open positions with the state. The governor says the initiative is also meant to help people to look into jobs and fields they may not have considered previously. South Dakota has a nearly two-percent unemployment rate.
