Noem Appointee Leaves State Position

(Pierre, SD) — Another appointee by Governor Noem is leaving their position. Noem announced yesterday that Governor’s Office of Economic Development commissioner Steve Westra is departing the agency. Westra has served as GOED commissioner since 2019. He was previously the chief operating officer of Hegg Companies in Sioux Falls and was a member of the state House from 2013 to 2016. The GOED provides financial programs, works with government loans, and completes other projects with businesses.
