(Sioux Falls, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem says she doesn’t believe the tribes are banishing her. This comes after the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council voted yesterday to ban the governor, which makes it the fourth reservation to do-so. Noem says she believes it’s the government banning her, not the community members. The governor also requested a meeting with the Oglala Sioux Tribal President Frank Star. Noem’s banishment from the reservations stem from her claiming that tribe members are working with the Mexican cartel.
