(Washington, D.C.) — Governor Noem is in D.C. meeting with lawmakers ahead of her Homeland Security Secretary confirmation. Noem said yesterday that she hopes to receive bipartisan support for the new role. The Republican added that most of the conversations she’s had so far are about “making America safe again.” Noem was also asked about a CNN story published yesterday that quotes McCook Lake resident Shelly Lewis criticizing Noem’s response to the June flooding. The South Dakota governor responded, saying the story was “absolutely not true whatsoever,” and that the CNN report left out important information about the situation.
