(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is giving her thoughts on the likely new role of Homeland Security Secretary. She spoke publicly for the first time yesterday during several appearances in Sioux Falls since President-elect Donald Trump appointed her on Tuesday. Noem says she accepted the role without any hesitation, noting it was the position she asked for. She added she’s honored and humbled that Trump chose her. Noem says she believes her time as South Dakota’s governor has prepared her for the future role.
