Northern Lights Possible

(Pierre, SD) — Experts are predicting a possible Northern Lights show in the northern part of the country. There are chances the spectacle could have already been seen as of Monday night and continue throughout the week. It comes as several geomagnetic storms have erupted on the sun in recent days. Canada is supposed to have the best viewing, but South Dakota could have a chance as well. If the forecast doesn’t pan out this time, there will likely be more of these events in the coming weeks as the solar cycle is projected to remain active at times the rest of the year.
