(Elk Point, SD) — Two people are behind bars after an officer-involved shooting and multi-state pursuit that happened over the weekend. It began when a shooting happened at a gas station in South Sioux City in Nebraska. According to the South Sioux City Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol, a man and woman were driving a stolen Budget Rental truck from Kansas. Brian Leroy Church allegedly drove the truck toward an officer which led to the shooting. Officials then pursued them into Iowa before ending the chase near Elk Point, South Dakota. That’s where Church was taken into custody, along with Gwenn Homan, who was initially driving the stolen truck.
