(Pierre, SD) — A group of Republican state lawmakers are calling for a special session on eminent domain and property rights with a petition. Some want to look deeper at the laws that have come into play surrounding proposed CO2 pipeline projects through South Dakota. Landowners have raised concerns about safety and surveyors damaging their land. The petition comes just weeks after landowners and some lawmakers rallied in Pierre urging Governor Noem to call a special session. A special session can still be called with two-thirds approval from both the state House and Senate.
