(Pierre, SD) — South Dakotans will no longer be able to fly to Minneapolis out of Pierre. The decision by Pierre Regional Airport to end the direct flight comes just six months after it started being offered. According to Denver Air Connection, not enough people were using the route. The airport’s Essential Air service currently provides two weekly round-trip flights between Pierre and Minneapolis along with its 10 round-trip flights each week between Pierre and the Denver International Airport. The MSP flights will return to Denver flights in early June.
