Pierre Working Towards Cleaner Water, Downtown Revitalization

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota’s capitol city has big plans for cleaner water and downtown revitalization. Pierre is putting the final touches on its new 37-million-dollar water treatment facility that will begin distributing water in December. It replaces the city’s aging wells that were showing increasing PH levels and mineral content, becoming the largest infrastructure project ever for Pierre. The next big plan is revitalizing downtown with a new 30-million-dollar district area with apartments, offices and retail at the old City Hall location.
