(Rapid City, SD) — A Pine Ridge woman has been ordered to pay more than eight-thousand dollars in restitution to the Oglala Sioux Tribe. A Federal Court sentenced Darcel Pourier Monday after she pleaded guilty to embezzlement and theft from the OST Health Administration Department. Pourier used the department’s funds, that were meant to help people who were struggling on the reservation during COVID-19, to buy food, snacks and gifts cards from the Buche Grocery store in Pine Ridge. Her sentencing also included three years of supervised released.
