(Sioux Falls, SD) — A major policy change is coming Siouxland Libraries because of a new state law. The law passed earlier this year makes obscene material in public libraries off limits to minors. Siouxland Libraries has announced it will discontinue the Student Success Cards program which gave library cards to students whose parents wouldn’t come and get them one. Anyone under 18 must have parental consent starting in December. The library board says they want to ensure that parents and guardians have control over their children’s library use.
